Baker’s Creek ReCrafted Flooring couples the stunning character of centuries old heart pine with the exceptional performance of engineered flooring. The faces are 100% re-claimed wood. Our Patent Pending Lineal Production line and nimble artisan approach allow us to fine tune each run while maintaining high-volume production capabilities.

During the Industrial Revolution, wood was employed as the primary building material of the time. Most of these structures were built after the Civil War and before 1920. Long Leaf Pine was used primarily because of its strength, durability, and availability. Most of these pines were growing when the early settlers arrived and much of the lumber salvaged from these old buildings were from trees growing before the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE was signed. This material became vital in building factories, wharves, bridges, and homes. As time progressed, these structures were abandoned, but the building and materials stood the test of time.

Many of these old structures have been slated for demolition and headed for landfills. It is the passion and vision of Baker’s Creek to use the salvaged parts of these structures, breathing new life into these historic relics. Baker’s Creek uses beams, decking, and flooring from these antiquated structures to carefully recreate the beautiful and much sought after floors our ancestors worked and lived on.
ReCrafted Heart Pine gives an opportunity to bring living history into our homes and businesses while creating a positive environmental impact. Living on a beautiful floor that was growing before this great country was even formed…WHAT A STORY.

This beautiful and historical line will contain all the characteristics that are sought after in a reclaimed floor. You will find nail holes, bolt holes, knots, splits, cracks, and all the natural characteristics of Reclaimed Heart Pine. These are not viewed as flaws or defects, but rather the characteristics of a true historical treasure that has been carefully crafted to make this charming floor.

Tell the story because there is certainly an exciting and historical story to tell about ReCrafted Heart Pine flooring from Baker’s Creek !

Get a cleaner, Fresher Feeling Home With Bliss Carpet!

Bliss carpet by beaulieu Heathy Home was created for households on-the-go! It’s durable, kid friendly, and easy to clean. But, best of all, it resists mold and mildew to help households feel cleaner. While carpet does not promote the growth of mold or mildew, foreign particles on any moist surface can promote its occurrence and growth. Silver Release helps Bliss Carpets stay naturally fresh and inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew using silver and copper ions.

Silver Release:

Proven effective against a broad spectrum of mold, mildew, and bacteria in your carpet. Based on testing it won’t wear or wash off for the life of the carpet.

Built into the fiberfor “DNA” of carpet, resulting in long lasting anti microbial protection.

Naturally beneficial, uses silver and copper ions – elements found in nature.

Put Silver Release To Work For You.

People today are more concerned than ever about bacterial growth and are more demanding products that are “smart”, green and help promote a cleaner environment. Bliss carpet by beaulieu has answered the call with Silver Release. It is proven effective against bacteria, mold, and mildew – kicking into action when you need it. This patented fiber technology brings long lasting, effective anti microbial protection to your carpet. Best of all, it’s based on naturally occurring elements.

How Does It Work?

The key to the effectiveness of Silver Release is a unique, balanced combination of silver and copper ions. Moisture in the environment, the same moisture required by microbes to grow, initiates the release of silver and copper ions from the fibers. These ions bind to the microbes, inactivating them. This process takes place continuously for the life of the carpet.

Green Smart Carpet Fiber

Green Smart is the environment friendly carpet fiber. It is made from 100% recycled P.E.T. Polyester. It’s so easy to be green with bliss carpeting!

The Janka (or side) hardness test measures the force required to embed a .444-inch steel ball to half its diameter in wood. It is one of the best measures of the ability of a wood species to withstand denting and wear. By the same token, it also is a good indicator of how hard or easy a species is to saw or nail. Northern red oak, for example, has a Janka hardness rating of 1290. Brazilian Cherry, with a rating of 2820, is more than twice as hard. If you’re accustomed to working with red oak and decide to tackle a job with brazilian cherry hardwood flooring, you can expect it to be much harder to cut and nail down.

JANKA SCALE RATINGS:

Brazilian Walnut 3680
Brazilian Teak 3540
Red Oak 1290
Birch 1260
Southern Yellow Pine 870

While Janka values give a general sense of hardness, many other factors also contribute to a wood floor’s durability, including the type of cut (i.e. plainsawn, quartersawn), denseness of cell structure, and finish used.

Protecting your carpet investment is up to you…

Like other fine furnishings, carpet requires proper care, and you should reference your residential warranty for specific care requirements. There are also a few simple steps you can take to insure the lasting beauty of your new carpet.

Prevention : Keep the dirt/soil out. Use walk-off mats at entrance and other areas to keep outside dirt and moisture from being tracked onto the carpet. Clean mats frequently. Keep your sidewalks and entrances free of excessive dirt.

Vacuum Frequently : The best way to reduce dirt accumulation and prolong the life of your carpet is to vacuum, vacuum! Most dirt, even dust, is in the form of hard particles. When left in the carpet, these gritty, sharp particles abrade the pile as effectively as sandpaper. How frequently should you vacuum? That depends on the amount of foot traffic and household soil to which your carpet is exposed. More use means more frequent vacuuming. All Flooring Solutions recommends a vacuum cleaner with a rotating brush or “brush/beater bar” to agitate the pile and mechanically loosen soil particles. The exception to this is for shag styled products with longer yarns which might tend to wrap around a rotating brush. For these styles we recommend a suction-only vacuum. Also, be aware that some vacuums have overly aggressive action which may damage the surface of your carpet.

Spots & Spills on Carpet: Prompt attention to spots and spills is essential. Some spilled materials will stain or discolor carpet if not removed promptly. Other spills can leave a sticky residue that may result in increased soiling if not removed.

Remember no carpet is stain proof, although many are stain resistant, which allows time for removal.

General Stain Removal Instructions for Carpet

Scrape: Remove as much of food spills as possible by scraping gently with a spoon of dull knife.
Absorb: Absorb wet spills as quickly as possible by blotting repeatedly with white paper or cloth towels.

Blot: Always blot; never rub or scrub abrasively, as a fuzzy area may result. When blotting, work from the edge in toward the center of the spot to avoid spreading the spill.

Rinse: Always follow up with water to remove detergent residue that may become sticky and cause rapid resoiling.

Weight: Remove remaining moisture by placing several layers of white towels over the spot and weigh them down with a heavy object that will not transfer color, such as a plastic jug of water.

The thick solid top layer of our 1/2″ engineered flooring is identical in appearance to our solid flooring (actually cut from a solid block of Appalachian lumber, as is our solid flooring). The main difference is that our engineered flooring is supported with cross-grain construction to give you versatility in installation (install virtually anywhere in your home). With Somerset, you can install either solid or engineered hardwood flooring – or both – in your home, and only you and your All Flooring Solutions, Inc. contractor will know which it is.

You can glue* them directly to concrete, staple* them to wood subfloors or “float” them above the subfloor with no direct attachment. (*Variations may apply.

Make sure the floor is clean before applying any stain.
A stain is only as good as the sanding job underneath it, stain will emphasize irregularities such as edger mark, chatter marks, picture framing, scraping marks and abrasion patterns. It will also highlight problems from skipping too many sandpaper grits.
“Popping the grain” by lightly moistening the wood and letting it dry (confirm dryness with a moisture meter) before the stain is applied allows the stain to penetrate more, making the stain appear more intense.
A finer grit of sandpaper used before staining will leave the wood surface smoother, making the stain color appear lighter than if coarser sandpaper grit is used.
Stains must by completely dry before a coat of sealer or finish is applied.
Stains take differently with different species of wood, make samples to ensure the desired color and, if possible, make samples on the actual job site.
Highly pigmented stains, e.g., white, pastel, mahogany or ebony, can take substantially longer to dry than other stains.
Some wood species such as maple and pine are difficult to stain because they do not accept stain uniformly.
Some stain colors are not compatible with water-based finishes.
